Be a photo pro when you get your session gallery. Learn tips and tricks to share and store your pics.
Once you have your photos it’s exciting to go through the gallery, share, find your favorites, and the biggest thing; download all your photos for safekeeping! Galleries from photographers can sometimes be overwhelming but I have tried my best to curate an easy platform that lets you get to your photos with ease! This blog is an overview of that platform and how to get the most from it!
1. Gallery Delivery & Access
You will either receive a link or get an email when your gallery is up! When you enter your gallery you will be prompted to enter an email to access. This helps me track who is accessing the gallery, as well as enables me to send a reminder before your gallery expires making sure you have downloaded all your photos.
2. Viewing the Gallery
Notice the icons on the top right of your gallery and the bottom right of your photos.
The shopping cart icon it means that the print store is available allowing you to order prints and other photo products directly from your gallery. Currently, I have this feature turned off due to finding a new print provider that meets my standards of quality.
The heart icon creates a favorites list, you can heart photos to create your list and they will be linked to the email you used to enter the gallery. Enter that same email when you enter the gallery will allow you to access your favorites and download just your favorites as well!
The arrow down icon means download will get more into the best practices of downloading later on!
The arrow swooping to the right is the share icon, press it and you can share via email or socials to your friends and family to take a look at your gallery!
You will have a pop-up (see below) giving a quick tutorial about the gallery. It tells you the basics of how the gallery works.
3. Favorites
Favorites are a handy little way of curating a mini gallery. Maybe these are the photos you want to share on social media, or they are the ones you want to print. You can make multiple favorites lists as well, when you are in the main gallery press the heart icon in the top right, and you can manage your favorites or create a new list. This is a good time to note that whatever email you used to access the photos is the same email you need to use when accessing the gallery to view your favorites lists!
When you download your favorites you can download them in a few different ways. Before downloading please see the best practices for downloads below. First, get into your favorites list (top right heart icon in the main gallery) and click the favorites list you made.
Download them all at once by clicking the top right download icon that will open a prompt about downloading. Or you can download them individually by clicking the download icon on the photo which then opens the downloading prompt.
4. Downloading
The most important step! You got all these beautiful photos taken now how do you post them without them being blurry and how do make sure you have the highest quality prints?
Always download all your photos in both High Resolution and Web Size! It’s best to have both versions for whatever use scenario you have in the future. As well just make sure you have all your photos downloaded for safekeeping. As much as I wish I could host your photos forever I do have to take them down to make space for the next galleries so galleries do have expiration dates.
High Resolution – These are the photos you get printed, they are the highest quality (full resolution) version of your images.
Web Size – These are compressed-sized photos, Facebook and other social media platforms are less likely to upload blurry. The files are much smaller and therefore are faster to download and upload! They are ideal for sharing on Social Media, or for quick viewing.
When sharing on social media please tag @amandariephotography to spread the word of our services! We appreciate you!
When downloading you can download your entire gallery by clicking the download icon on the top right corner of the full gallery page. Then when the download prompt opens you can select High Resolution or Web Size you will have to do this step twice to download each download size! If you just want to download a single photo click the download icon on the photo (bottom right corner) and the download prompt will open.
Be sure to download your gallery in both sizes so you have them for safekeeping!
